Thanks for stopping by.
I love to read and create stories about things that go bump in the night, no matter if they’re serial killers or other strange creatures. I’ve written about those pesky people who intrude on our lives with deadly force in mysteries, police procedurals, and supernaturals.
An author and writing coach, my novels have received praises from The International Thriller Writers, Kirkus, and NY Times bestselling authors. My short stories have appeared in literary anthologies as well as a national women’s magazine.
During my long career, I’ve been represented by two agents, served as acquiring editor for a small press, freelanced as a book editor, and judged a fiction competition at a Midwest Writing Festival. I created several Powerpoint presentations on the craft of writing and has spoken about the craft to various writers groups and libraries in SoCal. I love to share what I’ve learned along the way.
I enjoy helping other writers with their work, and I specialize in the critical first chapters. If you need help with your opening, check this page. And if you need more help understanding what’s needed, contact me for consultation.
Certified in Written English, I’ve edited for an indie publisher and belonged to an international critiquing group when the web was in its infancy.
Currently, I host a writer’s group in Redlands, CA., so if you’re in the area and need feedback on your writing, join us.
